Åland: Calculations are based on surveys by Statistics and Research Åland (ÅSUB) and refer in general to the population aged 16 and older. In 2022, the question of physical and mental health was asked separately. 66.1% indicated good or very good physical health, 78.3% indicated good or very good mental health. The results in 2024 refer to the population aged 18-84 years.
This is a vision indicator selected by the Nordic Council of Ministers. It relates to the target Good health and well-being under the area A socially sustainable Nordic region.

The proportion of the population aged 16 and older who rate their health as good or very good, in percent.

The European Statistics of Income and Living Condition (EU-SILC) survey measures (among other things) three different concepts of health, where self-perceived health is one. The concept is operationalized by a question on how a person perceives his/her health in general using one of the answer categories very good/ good/ fair/ bad/ very bad. The target population consists of individuals aged 16 years old and over living in private households.

In the table, the Nordic Region is comprised of the following countries/areas: Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.

Åland is included in the data for Finland.
